Nutrition is an interesting topic because as there is no one size fits all and we are all different. What might be right for me may not be the same for you and i really believe it's best to listen to your own body and get help from an expert in the field of nutrition any time we want to make any lifestyle changes. But recently I have had some questions about what i eat and so today i want to share with you 5 of my favourite foods that I normally eat every day...
1. Breakfast is a must for me and i love to have my avocado on toast with pomegranate and a hot cup of coffee... (i love coffee but limit myself to this one cup a day)
2. I Love a good Smoothie. Its such a simple and quick way to fill my body with healthy fruits and vegetables to boost my energy levels throughout the day when life is busy. (recipe on my favourite smoothies to come...)
Tip: According to Chinese medicine we should never drink it ice cold in the winter as your body will prefer to eat foods that are warm or at least room temperature when the weather is cold. Especially if you're a mama who tends to get easily cold or fatigued...
3. Chicken stock or broth... Sorry to offend any vegans/vegetarians out there, i know this one is controversial. Having been a vegetarian for a few years i do now eat a little bit of meat and chicken stock is just so amazing for your gut and immune system. I freeze it in ice cube trays and heat it up in soups, rice or quinoa for lunch or dinner.
4. Quinoa is a fantastic source of protein as it contains all the amino acids. I always have it for lunch with a salad and cook it with stock to give it tons of flavour.
5. Dates. I love everything sweet and dates cover my sweet cravings! They are a great source of energy and contain fiber, antioxidants and nutrients such as calcium and magnesium.
Tip: Mix 12 dates, 2 cups of nuts (cashew and walnuts are great) and 2 tbs of raw cocoa powder in a food processor. Roll into balls and enjoy as a yummy healthy treat!
To save time and energy thinking about "what should i eat today?" i eat a lot of the same foods everyday, varying a few things to keep it interesting and balanced. Dinner is a must for us that we enjoy making and enjoying as a family.
I don't count calories or weigh myself, i just try to focus on nourishing my body with the healthiest foods possible and focusing on how it makes my body feel after i eat it. I also make sure to eat enough throughout the day to maintain my energy levels. I know how easy it is to forget to eat when life is busy, but as the Norwegian saying goes; "Uten mat og drikke, duger mama ikke" - which is roughly translated into "without food and drink, you ain't gonna function mama!". And to be able to show up as our best selves, we need to make sure our bodies are getting its nutrients.
I hope this inspires you in some way to either add more foods to your plate or at least make sure you're eating enough healthy foods to boost your energy levels throughout your day. But just remember, you do what feels good for you!
Have a great one, Love
Being a mama is wonderful in so many ways! But it can also mean hectic schedules with very little me-time to also care for yourself (without the mama guilt...). Life can sometimes feel more stressful and busy, than easy, balanced and fun... And we can all have that little mean voice in our heads that tells us that (no matter how much we do) we aren’t being or doing enough... right?
But Imagine feeling relaxed, confident and happy, in-tune with yourself and those you love. Feeling energised and getting the important stuff done, while also being a loving, present and calm mama to your kids. And having plenty of time to care for yourself and to do what you love...
I believe it all starts with ourselves and creating our balance. It’s something i’m so passionate about so I wrote a new free Ebook! In it I share;
3 Simple (but Essential) steps to a more balanced mind, body and Mama Life...
How to quickly shift your mindset to being much more loving, supportive and empowering, using one simple technique...
And how to create more time to care for yourself and do what you love! Even If you're super busy...

Came across this video by JJ Heller on motherhood. It warmed my heart and I wanna share it with you! We don't realise how much our mamas did for us. How challenging, transformational and wonderful it truly is until we become mamas ourselves...
Let's fill our days with gratitude for all that our mothers have done for us and for the amazing job we are doing ourselves. Let's focus on being present with our little ones, filling our time together with giggles and seeing the magic in small everyday moments.
Have a wonderful week, Love
When life is busy, it's so EASY to loose that precious balance and forget to prioritise moments to slow down, tune-in and care for ourselves.
For most of us, lack of balance often builds up so gradually that we don't even realise it until it has manifested itself as physical symptoms (stress, frustration, anxiety and exhaustion) or in our relationships (irritability, snapping and arguing). We can often feel like life is hard, stressful and overwhelming, with "no time" to spend quality time with those we love or the things we love to do!
I've been burnt out before and had my fair share of ups and downs in the past which is why I'm so passionate about health, wellness and having balance in our lives. When i follow my own advice and do the things i know creates balance within myself and my life, things are amazing! But when i forget and neglect myself or the things I know I need to do (because im too busy or don't feel like it), things go downhill pretty fast.
But see the universe has a way of doing that when she's trying to teach us something. First its a kind tap on the shoulder, a feeling of something not being quite right (but we often ignore it). Then she nudges and pushes us a little harder... And if we continue to ignore whatever is that is going on, she knocks your over the head and flips your life upside down so you're forced to deal with it.
When life happens and we loose balance, we can see it as an opportunity to learn, grow and become even better versions of ourselves. We just need to sit with the uncomfortableness, accept it and create a new way moving forward.
I'm so grateful to have my health, my family and close friends who love and support me everyday. But the internal work - loving and caring for myself so that i can truly show up in life as the person and mama i want to be today and moving forward, thats on me. So today i want to share with you some of the things that I've been doing recently to make sure I'm staying balanced.
1. I'm prioritising extra time to tune-in with myself through meditation and yoga to connect, calm my mind and relax my body.
2. I'm focusing on my Mindset and treating myself with love, kindness and understanding. We all make mistakes and no one is perfect. Accept it, let it go and move forward. This weeks mantra has been; "Do it with balance and joy, or not at all"
3. Making sure i get enough rest & sleep. Long baths and early nights... As well as nourishing my body with healthy foods (and a little chocolate...)
4. Connection. Away with meaningless distractions (social media) and lots of giggles and fun with Matheo. Honest and open conversations with those i love. Always a little uncomfortable but oh so necessary to heal, move on and create even better relationships.
5. Nourishing my beautiful body with healthy foods (and a little chocolate...)
I've really been craving connecting with more like minded mamas - soul sisters really. So last week i reached out to a new mama i didn't know (the wife of one of my husbands colleagues) and asked her out for a coffee. We hit it off instantly and after 4 hours of chatting, I feel so grateful to have made a new friend. Sometimes we just need to get over the fear, get out there and take a chance (may it be friendships, dating or a new opportunity. It may just work out perfectly ;)
This turned in to a long blog post but i just wanted to remind you that sometimes the toughest weeks can be the most transformational as they push us to take the necessary action we need to take to feel more balanced, relaxed, present and happy within ourselves and in our lives. When we do the inner work, we also have so much more to give back to those we love! I hope that this can inspire and motivate you to stop, re-evaluate, tweak and move forward with balance beautiful mama...
Have a magical week. Love
VLOG: THE ACUPRESSURE POINT FOR INSTANT CLARITY, FOCUS & ENERGY!
Lots of love,
I hope you've had a wonderful easter beautiful!
So a few months ago I sent out a questionnaire to everyone on my email list, hoping to to get some ideas for what to write on the blog that would be both inspiring and helpful. The response was amazing, thank you for taking the time to answer me so honestly.
A few of the things that we seem to all struggle with is; wanting to have more balance in our lives, stress and negative self-talk - feeling like no matter what we do, we are never being or doing enough...
I really believe that having balance in mind, body and life, and prioritising moments out of our day to love and care for ourselves, is the key to our happiness and wellbeing. So I decided to create a New Free 3-part Video Series that covers how we can do this.
This video series is exclusive to those on my email list so check your inbox for an email from me with the subject "Video1(of 3) How to create balance in 3 simple steps..."
Grab yourself a cup of tea, get comfy and hit play. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it for you!

PRIORITISING SOME ME-TIME TO NOURISH YOUR SPIRIT
Life as a mama is busy and we give so much of ourselves, gladly. The days are amazing and full of love and hilarious moments! But there are also moments that are stressful, chaotic, monotonous and (dare I say it...) a little boring?
So I really believe that it's so important for us not to forget to nourish the person that we are outside of our mama role. We need to prioritise moments to do the things that nourish our spirit.
Often we just feel too tired and when we do finally get a moment to ourselves, we just want to rest and sleep! (guilty...) Now of course we should rest when we are tired, but often "sleep doesn't help if your soul is tired". So my tip this week is to take a little bit of time throughout the day or in the evening, to do something just for you that lights you up and brings you joy! It could be an old hobby or trying something new that you've always wanted to try...
Personally I love being creative and I have always loved photography, but in the past I was just never any good at it. So last year when I decided to create my blog, I knew that I wanted to share lots of helpful wellness tips while it also being aesthetically pleasing to look at. So I took it up as a hobby and, although I have a lot to learn, it's something that I love to spend some of my me-time doing.
So what brings you joy mama? what do you love to do, just for you?
Have a great day, Lots of Love
P.S I took these photo's of the most beautiful cherry blossom that you have ever seen, just outside our house. Spring is here, remember to stop and smell the flowers.
Take some time this week to do something lovely for yourself. Here are my 5 top lovely things to do for you to feel good.
1. Flex your self-love muscle and write down 5 things you love and appreciate about yourself.
2. Buy yourself a beautiful bunch of fresh flowers, just for being you...
3. Plan to get up 30 min earlier tomorrow to enjoy a delicious breakfast and listen to an inspiring podcast or feel good tunes before the rest of the world wakes up.
4. Stop whatever you're doing and have a good stretch. Take a few deep breaths to calm and centre yourself.
5. Olalla by Blanco White has being playing on repeat all week. Take a break from whatever it is your doing, hit play here and dance around the room before continuing your day.
Wishing you a lovely week ;)

WHAT'S YOUR MAMA MANTRA?
A mantra is a word, sentence or phrase that you repeat to yourself frequently. We use them a lot in yoga and meditation as it can help you stay in the present moment and shift your focus to how you want to think or feel. They're also great for training your mind to be more positive, confident and calm.
I like to use them as little reminders of how I want feel that day and in moments of stress or frustration. Like today when my toddler had his second mini meltdown before 7am and refused to put on his shoes... It was just one of those mornings where I needed to take a deep breath and remind myself to keep calm and just relax.
Mantras are only words so for them to actually have an impact, you need to say them with intention, feel it in your heart and even try to visualise whatever it is you want to feel. I simply close my eyes, breathe and repeat my mantra while imagining that I see myself however I want to feel or be. The more often you do it, the more you believe it!
So today I want to share with you a few of my favourite mantras;
Whenever I feel anxious and like I need to control everything, I use the mantra; "When I let go, I let love in"
When I don't feel like I'm doing or being enough; "I am doing my best and we are all learning" or "I have enough, I do enough, I am enough"
When I can't seem to stop thinking ahead and just be present; "Life is happening now, enjoy it"
And when I catch myself being negative or complaining, I like to remind myself of the quote I once read; "Did you have a bad day, or just a bad 5 minutes that you milked all day?"
So pick your favourite quote or phrase (or use one of mine if you're stuck for ideas) and make it your own mantra. Write it down and place it somewhere (like the fridge, your mirror or workspace) where you can easily see it everyday and be reminded to think or say it out loud.
You are amazing, always enough and the best mama to your child(ren). In the everyday chaos that sometimes is motherhood, I think we all need a daily reminder.

CHOCOLATE LOVE FOR VALENTINES DAY
We don't really celebrate valentines day, but any excuse to indulge in some chocolate and do something lovely for yourself and/or the one you love, is always a good idea!
Anyone who knows me knows that chocolate is my weakness and I love to bake. So this morning I carved some me-time out of my busy schedule to make a quick and simple chocolate mousse that I decorated with dried edible lavender and rose petals, to surprise my boys with tomorrow.
I'm also throwing a dinner party on Saturday so now dessert is done too, yeay!
It's all about balance so this weeks tip is to make or buy yourself and the one(s) you love, something yummy!
Wishing you a day full of love and happiness.
P.S. Got a few questions about what recipe I used and it was a super quick and simple one by a Norwegian baker. But whenever I want to indulge in some delicious (but also nutritious) treats, I love love love Deliciously Ella. Check her out if you haven't already!
